Associate Product Manager

Overview

The Associate Product Manager is responsible for the following core functions of the product line: managing existing and continuous improvement, costing, accuracy of specification of product, ensuring documentation for design control, resolution of customer issues, and serving as a representative with quality assurance in investigations and corrective actions. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, written, oral and computer skills as well as be able to perform multiple tasks, and possess prior experience in product management. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. There is a high potential to move up in different levels of product management with performance level appraisal.

Position Responsibilities

  • Serve as the key support contact person related to product technical support for the defined product categories for both internal and external customers.
  • Develop product cross-reference and training material for the defined product categories.
  • Support the new product development process by representing the needs of the Microtek customers in the design and acceptability of new products.  Coordinate efforts with manufacturing, technical services, R & D, quality assurance, and purchasing.
  • Ensure that samples, specifications, and costing are accurate and completed in a timely manner for all new products.
  • Implement the required documentation necessary for design control on all new products to accommodate the needs of the Microtek customers. 
  • Support the company’s continuous improvement efforts by representing the needs of the customers in the design and acceptability of product cost reductions.  Coordinate efforts with the continuous improvement team, manufacturing, technical services, quality assurance, and purchasing.
  • Approve all label changes or additions for the defined product categories.
  • Approve all manufacturing deviations for the defined product categories.
  • Provide input to assist quality assurance in investigations and corrective actions for the defined product categories.
  • Provide assistance with forecasting.
  • Coordinate the development of special sales and product reports as needed for the defined product categories.
  • Provide assistance in the disposition of slow-moving and non-moving inventory for the defined product categories.

 

Requirements/Background Preferred

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define and effectively resolve problems, interprets technical instructions, and deal with both concrete and abstract variables.
  • Ability to effectively present to groups.
  • Valid driver’s license.
